Amanda is a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She has a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
Amanda understands that struggling with feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, depression, or anger can make it hard to remember that change is possible. She believes that taking the first step to reach out for help can be a powerful way to remind ourselves that we don't have to remain feeling stuck and that we have the power to create changes. Using evidence based interventions (EMDR, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and interal family systems), she provides clients with the tools and strategies that can help them reach their goals and recognize their ability for both change and growth. Amanda walks alongside her clients as they discover the root of what is holding them back (negative thinking, trauma, grief/loss, depression, and/or anxiety) and works with them towards self-compassion and change.
Amanda is able to support clients through a wide range of issues, including:
- Trauma
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- The impacts of childhood abuse
- Domestic violence
- Women's issues
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Grief/Loss
- Low self-esteem
- Life transitions
- Anger
Amanda creates a safe and compassionate space for clients to share their stories, struggles, and victories.
Be sure to explore your extended health plans as these can cover expenses for counselling facilitated by a C.C.C. Amanda is also an approved service provider with Crime Victims Assistance Program
