Sarah holds a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and Bachelors of Education and Arts Degrees from Queen's University. She has over two decades experience working with youth and families as a youth worker,
teacher, outdoor educator and clinical counsellor.
Sarah views counselling as a collaboration between therapist and clients, whereby clients are met where they are at and their strengths are utilized to support them in moving forward. By using a variety of counselling modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy- informed (DBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Mindfulness and Self-compassion, and
other strength based and experiential therapies, Sarah’s aim is to empower clients with healthy coping skills, the ability to regulate their emotions in effective ways, and specifically to build self-efficacy and a strong sense of self-worth.
