Dr. Ryan Lewis is a Primary Care Naturopathic Doctor with a passion for helping people strive for optimal health and wellness. Dr. Lewis is a great listener, and takes the time with his patients in order to hear their health concerns and full history. From this detailed health history, a physical exam and lab testing he begins to put the pieces together in order to help people regain control of their health and get back to doing the things they love. Dr. Lewis strives to deliver excellence in care to all of his patients and it is his belief that having a more vibrant health does not have to feel like an elusive goal.
Dr. Lewis’ primary goal is to not only to address the root cause of a patient’s health concerns, but also to educate his patients to ensure they understand it as well. He wants to empower you, as the patient, with the knowledge, skills and tools you need to become equal partners and active participants in your healthcare. Armed with the knowledge of what is causing the symptoms, you will be guided to implement changes in order to regain and sustain optimal health.
Dr. Lewis has a general family practice with a clinical focus in the following areas:
Cardiovascular disease such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, recovery from and prevention of heart attack and stroke
Digestive concerns, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), heartburn, indigestion, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
Men’s health including prostate health and sexual difficulties
Women’s health such as PMS, irregular or painful periods, PCOS, hormonal imbalances and perimenopasual/menopausal symptoms – yes, ladies, even though he is a man he is very easy to talk to and is well versed in the workings of the female reproductive system!
Energy changes such as those related to nutrient deficiencies, thyroid health and those related to adrenal fatigue and the stress response
Pain, whether it be chronic or acute
Seasonal allergies through nutrition and sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT)

Full physical exams
Comprehensive laboratory testing – such as blood work, food sensitivity testing, saliva hormone testing and urinalysis
Comprehensive nutritional assessments. Diet is the basis for health. This is why he feels it is important to assess the effect that his patients’ diets are having on their health and their body’s ability to process and tolerate the foods they consume.
Acupuncture – can be used for stress & anxiety, muscle tension, sports injuries, chronic pain, headaches, smoking cessation support, substance abuse, digestive concerns, and menstrual irregularities
Dr. Lewis is a licensed naturopathic physician with additional training and certification in acupuncture and prescriptive authority with IV certification coming soon. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the British Columbia Naturopathic Association, and the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia. He has been growing his practice in Chilliwack since 2016.
Dr. Lewis grew up in Montreal for most of his life where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Concordia University. Following the completion of his undergrad, he moved to Toronto to study at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Canada’s premier institute for education and research in naturopathic medicine. While on his clinical rotations, he had a chance to work at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and at a few other community clinics around Toronto including, Queen West and Sherbourne Health Centre. This experience proved to be invaluable as it taught him how to provide naturopathic medical care to individuals and communities who are at risk and/or face barriers to accessing high quality health care services and support.
Fun fact: Dr. Lewis is a double black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Jiu-Jitsu and a green belt in Judo. Although he no longer actively practices martial arts he brings many of those teachings with him to his practice as is shown by his work ethic, patience and understanding nature.
